Reaper Trackpad Haptic Feedback (MacBook Only)

I always thought the MacBook haptics were an Apple software thing but apparently you can implement this behavior yourself into any software that lets you do it, and I found out Reaper can also do this too.

This script is for MacBooks only. Should work on both Apple M Series and Intel

(Tested on two separate M2 MacBook Air laptops with 16GB RAM. Not tested on Apple Magic Trackpad, but apparently should still work on it too)

I had a fair bit of AI assistance to make this whole thing work, and a lot of hands-on testing, bug identification and fixing on my end to make sure it runs smoothly

Instructions provided in a pdf included in the download

Enjoy the haptics!

MacBook trackpad gives a small vibration when:

Resizing Tracks

Double clicking Volume / Pan to reset triggers the haptics

Resizing Regions

Audio / MIDI clips snapping to grid

Moving Markers snapping to grid

I did have a metronome sync to haptics in earlier versions I was privately using but the haptics were activating in between the beats but it might be possible to eventually add a fix for that and bring it back!

Vibration intensity for each parameter is customizable inside the Lua script! 3 levels - LIGHT / MED / HEAVY

UPDATED IN v2.8.3 - An additional setting OFF / false can also be used to switch off haptics and scanning for specific haptic triggers in the user customisation area in the script to save CPU
